71 - NEW! Studio5000 - RSLogix5000 Advanced Lab Projects Manual - 312 pages
This is not a good starting place to learn Programmable Logic Controllers. It assumes that the reader already understands basic programming and that they are upgrading to the Logix Engine and the Logix Engines HCI (Human Controller Interface) RSLogix5000. We do not repeat the same concepts in this manual that we covered in the “Complete PACLearn Series - Fundamental Programming & Programming Examples” the black and blue set of manuals. Review the table of contents in the library of images for this product.
There are projects in this manual that you may not be able to execute if you do not have the appropriate hardware and software such as motion and programming languages...but you will learn nonetheless. The projects were executed with Revision 20 and you will notice subtle differences if you are using a later revision level but you will be able to sort it out. The motion projects are done with SERCOS and not the latest Ethernet Motion. There is one project at the beginning that you create a tag structure that resembles PLC5/SLC500/Micrologix...This is a segway for those transitioning from the older platforms to 5000.

Because of the expense of Contrologix hardware, we will do most of the labs with CompactLogix and only a few with ControlLogix. Keep in mind that almost anything that you can do with ControlLogix, you can also do with CompactLogix. Setting aside any differences in I/O part numbers, a 16 point digital output module serves the same basic functions in code whether it is a 1769 backplane or a 1756 backplane.
The Complete PACLearn Series is the most effective, least expensive and yet, the most complete training package available in the Programmable Automation Controller arena. To support that claim, it must provide real hands on experience, not product feature demonstrations, all lab exercises need to be step by step and fully illustrated; the lab exercises must address the less apparent nature of the products as well as the obvious. Nothing builds confidence like seeing it work with a real PAC. This manual is designed for the individual with some experience with a PLC. It is also an excellent introduction to RSLogix5000 for the experienced engineer that is familiar with the SLC500-Micrologix products and needs a quick start. The Complete PACLearn Series includes Lab Project manuals and supporting videos available for purchase.
